ABOUT COMPACT DISCSThe compact disc provides the ultimate means available today to preserve and distribute a musical recording. Any recording we make can be transferred, digitally, to the proper format to manufacture compact discs. There is no loss in fidelity nor increase in noise during this process. It is a 1:1 transfer with the copy being identical to the original recording. Compact discs are more costly to manufacture than cassette tapes particularly in low quantities. Pressing plants generally require minimum orders of 1000 CDs. Even if a plant accepts orders for fewer than 1000 they charge additional fees so that the total cost is about the same as if ordering 1000 CDs. Prices begin at $3.00 each but copyright fees, royalties and such, can add as much as $2.00 per disc. Contact us with your specific requirements. Allow about four weeks for the manufacturing process. We fill 99% of our CD orders with write-once CDs (CD-R) which we manufacture, on demand, here. "On demand" means that you can order the exact quantity you want and receive them much more quickly. If you discover later that you don't have enough CDs you can easily order more. There are no minimum quantities. If you need 4 more, 10 more, 25 more, we again make exactly what you need. Allow a week for the manufacturing process. Included are CD-Text, a Jewel case and full-color case liner and shrink-wrapping. (CD-Text shows the name and composer of each track on players equipped with a panel display and readout.) Prices per CD may be found in the table below. Quantities of 1 - 299 are duplicated by us using CDR and are noted in black print. Higher quantities (in blue) are standard CDs replicated by others. Delivery times are 3 to 4 weeks and you must be willing to accept 10% over or under the quantity you order. If 3 - 4 weeks is too long we can fill your order using CDR in a week or less. Cost will vary so contact us with your requirements.
